I'm using the plugin in a Wordpress 3.0 multi-site.

Everything's working fine but the emails show as a sender name, the URL of the main blog instead of showing the string specified in Sender-name setting.

Any idea how to solve it?

Bei den Test-eMails werden im Content die Umlaute falsch dargestellt. Im Outlook 2007 werden diese falsch dargestellt.

obgleich dieser Fehler bereits mehrere Male gepostet wurde, kann ich nirgends eine relevante Antwort finden.

In der an den Subscriber gesendete Mail erscheint folgender fehlerhafte Bestätigungslink:

PN im Fehlersuchemodus

Hallo an alle, ich habe dieses an sich sehr sinnvolle Plugin auf meinem Blog installiert. Nun habe ich folgendes Problem: a) kommt auf der Konfigurierungsseite von PN im Wordpress, das sich PN im Fehlersuchemodus befindet, weil irgendetwas nicht korrekt funktioniert, aber was? b) Der Fehler in der Praxis: Wenn sich jemand für den Newsletter anmeldet (ich will, das die registrierten Nutzer eine Mail bekommen mit dem Link zum Post, wenn dieser publiziert wurde), dann bekommt er die Mail mit dem Bestätigungslink. Bis dahin läuft alles korrekt. Doch wenn der Nutzer dann auf den Link in der Mail klickt, dann landet er auch auf meiner Seite, aber es kommt: "nichts gefunden" und es ist als wäre es wie eine Suche gewesen. Ich bin fast am verzweifeln, weil ich schon fast alles ausprobiert habe, und wenn ich mich für meinen Newsletter mit meiner eigenen Mailadresse registriere, dann funktioniert das komischerweise. Alles läuft wunderbar, ich kann mich zum Newsletter an- und abmelden. Nur bei fremden Mailadressen funktioniert das nicht korrekt. Muss ich noch an irgendeiner Datei etwas verändern? Ich wäre euch sehr dankbar, wenn ihr mir bei diesem Fehler helfen würdet.

PS: Beim Testen habe ich gerade festgestellt, das die Meldung kommt: "Fehler: Die Emailadresse muss in der Datenbank sein." Und dort sind definitiv Mailadressen eingetragen. Ich bin ratlos...

After installation I Got the messages above. I don't know how to repair this, because the lines in the Notices are only the place of the error-message.
I've got the Original-Blog in Version [1].1.2.39 only with another design. If I deactivate the design the shown messages stay.

Can anybody help me?

@@post_notification_body stopped working

Hi,

I have noticed that, for some reason, the @@post_notification_body tag in my page to allow visitors to subscribe does not work anymore.

I already tried disabling some of the plugins which I installed over the last weeks, but nothing seems to help.

When I look at the source code, I see this :

@@postnotificationbody

Is there a way to fix this, or change the tags (not to use underscores for example) ?

Email not sending

I am noticing that some notification recipients are not receiving notifications on some posts. I have tested this with the Test feature and have confirmed that where one Post Notification will go out for a selected Post the same recipient will not receive notification for a different post. There appears to be no difference in the post content - all tested contain text, graphics, quotes and links. I had qTranslate installed and had read that PN didn't like plugins like that so deleted the Plugin but no change. I can confirm that certain Posts will never get notified to some addresses whereas others will always get delivered. Any ideas?

P.S. I love the plugin!

Email from test is different than email from post

When I send a test email - the email newsletter looks perfect.

When I send the email to all subscribers using the "Send notification when publishing? - Yes" option - the newsletter has errors.

I have attached an image to see the behavior. Basically - it is not showing the links and the proper background color on the right of the posts excerpts (they represent the post category and the post tag).

Subject setting being ignored?

I'm testing out the latest beta (2.0.b.1) and have been able to get it working except for one thing. On the Post Notification Settings page, I set the subject to "New post in @@blogname: @@title" but the subject of the email I recieve remains "Blogname: Title" Is the subject of the email now hard coded?

Habe das PN aufgesetzt und Testmails funktionieren schnell, nun dachte ich sollte auch der Normalbertieb laufen .... dachte ich ....

Beim ersten Versand eines neuen Artikels bekamen jedoch nicht alle registrierten User eine Mail (ich habe mich selber registriert und erhalte "keine" Mail). Ich weiss jetzt nicht, wer nun eine Mail erhalten hat und wer nicht. Und wie stelle ich das Mailing genau ein, es sind etwa 2300 registrierte User in der Datenbank. Es werden auf einmal 20 Mails versandt und dann wird eine Pause von 10 Sekunden eingelegt .... kann es an diesen Einstellungen liegen? Sollte die Einstellung auf 2500 eingestellt werden, damit die Mails sofort versandt werden?

Freue mich auf Antwort ....

Auto-subscribe not working

I am new to this plugin and think it is a fantastic time saver.

I have set "Add user to PN when registering to WP:" to "yes". However, this does not seem to work - When I create a new post, registered users do not get the post notification email.

I am on WP 2.9.2, and am using register plus, and Peter login redirect. I have turned these off and tried, but it still will send a notification email to registered users

Any ideas, thoughts?

Problem im Zusammenspiel mit Countdown Timer

Hallo,

ich habe Post Notifications und Countdown Timer (und ein paar andere) als Plugins installiert.
So lange ich nur eines der beiden aktiviere gibt es keine Probleme, wenn ich aber beide Plugins aktivere bricht die Seite Einstellungen beim Laden der Seite bei dem Dropdown in dem man die Zeitzone wählen kann ab. Bis dahin sieht alles normal aus, aber dieses dropdown Feld ist leer und darunter werden keine weiteren Inhalte mehr geladen.

Außerdem funtioniert bei manchen (nicht bei allen!) Einträgen der Visuelle Editor nicht.

Hat jemand irgendeine Idee, woran das liegen kann?

Post Notification with Podpress bug?

A small bug though... I have Podpress installed which adds an mp3 to the end of a post. Sometimes PN includes it in the email, but most of the time it strips it out. Any idea why?

I've tried the filtering section in the settings tab, but it doesn't make a difference.

Hello,

Everything has been working well until I went and registered myself to make sure all was well. When the subscriber clicks on the validation link they are sent to the page where they can make the choice of categories to subscribe to. When the choice is made, and they click the register button, a new page is served up showing they're registered but, all the way at the top of the page, above the Header, I have this warning message:

Bug - Random extra photo

I am using Wordpress v2.9.1
Post Notification v1.2.39
PHP 5.2.9-4

For the most part, Post Notification works very well for me. On occasion a post notification will be emailed out with an extra photo inserted into the post. It appears that all users get the same email. If I go into the test section of Post Notification and send the same post again, the extra photo does not appear.

The difference between the two mail messages, other than mail headers and some white space, is just the extra photo.

This does not happen with every post. It is quite random.

Is anyone seeing this behavior with their installation? Any thoughts on how to debug or fix this?

I just noticed that Post Notification plugin has some issues with the DB, here's the output from my log:

Some text appears as question marks

Hi,

I'm using the Hebrew translation of PN. Strangely, the text that is being replaced by the @@post_notification_header and @@post_notification_body appears as question marks.

What makes it strange is the fact that it doesn't act the same on all pages:

1. After a user puts his email address in the input box and hits "register", only the @@post_notification_header appears as ??????????????????, the body looks ok

2. When a user wants to cancel a notification, the entire screen (title and body) is question marks.

Any idea?

bug with xlanguage

First, thanks you very much for this plugin which is exactly what i was looking for !

I'm posting here because i have a problem using it :

I use the plugin xlanguage with three languages : FR/EN/ES. I configured your plugin (in email_template.html) to add the three languages links after the post content. But, strangly, the plugin send an email only in MY language (fr) to every subscriber. I don’t know why..

The xlanguage plugin detect the following tags :

On the configuration page i have : “Some plugins use filters to modify the content of an article. You can hope they do not modify one of your emails. Finding the right filter requires some testing.” I think this is where to configure that i don’t want the plugin to not detect the xlanguage tag. But there is no xlanguage tag..

Here is the list i have : wptexturize, convert_smilies, convert_chars, wpautop, prepend_attachment, generate_avatar_in_posts, post_notification_filter_content, visitors_map_post_map_filter, do_shortcode, GA_Filterthe_content, wpu_get_users, wp_dlm_parse_downloads, wp_dlm_parse_downloads_all, xmlgooglemaps_converter

I think i need your help. I can add you to the newsletter if you want, to test, or send you anything you need. I’m with the last version of wordpress.

Emails not sending

Without any action on my part, the plugin stopped sending emails today. I upgraded the version, switched to database locking, debug mode on and off, activated WP Mail SMTP (but couldn't find the mail( call to change).

Test emails create data on test page, but emails are not going out to me or anybody on my list.

Please help!

guten abend

seit dem ich das update gemacht habe, von pn, und wordpress auf 2.8.5, funktioniert mit pn so ziemlich gar nichts mehr. anfangs konnte ich noch das pn update machen und danach, verschwand das pugin einfach, bei meiner plugin liste ist es nicht mehr zu sehen , zu finden.........

wenn ich es frisch, bei plugin hinzufüge, suche, und es installieren will, kommt immer die meldung, das das plugin auf dem neusten stand sei..............aber wo zum kuckuck ist es geblieben.

wenn ich , im admin bereich eine seite öffne, finde ich die pn einstellung zum versenden , nicht mehr..........

kann mir bitte irgendjemand sagen, was ich machen kann um , das tolle plugin wieder zu finden und noch besser wie ich es wieder zum laufen bringe.

ich hab mich hier im forum umgeschaut, es sieht so aus, als wäre ich der einzige deutschsprechende, der seit dem update irgendwie auf dem schlauch steht...............

bei den englischen einträge bin ich mir nicht so sicher, ob die ähnliche probleme haben, men englisch reicht dazu nicht ganz aus

Post Notification stopped working after 1.28.37 update

Hello,

I regret the day I updated to 1.28.37 from 1.28.36 because ever since the the update to 1.28.37 (even after I updated to 1.28.38) Post Notification has stopped sending out e-mail notifications. The only way for me to send out email notifications is to set PN in debug mode and keep refreshing the PN admin page.

The problem is not PN does not detect new posts to send e-mails about. Rather it does detect new posts to send e-mails about - it lists them in its que. It just never sends out the posts. Sending test posts works fine too.

Any help? I have been using Post Notification since I started my blog and feel really lost an e-mail notification system. I am desperate enough that I may move to Subscribe2 because my blog is fairly high traffic and I need to send out e-mail notifications.

Version 1.2.37: The plugin does not have a valid header. [SOLVED]

Again, there is something wrong with the plugin. If you use autoupdate, the plugin returns this message on activation: "The plugin does not have a valid header."

Found the bug: There is a subfolder in the plugin's folder called "1.2". You have to move all its contents into the main folder, then upload the whole thing.

Post Notification disappeared from Settings menu

Upgrading from 1.2.34 to 1.2.35

I suspect this is the same problem as mkalina but unfortunately my German isn't that good. Upgraded from 1.2.34 to 1.2.35 and received the error message
